Diaspora Rising is a new cultural event initiated by Chandler (LouLou Pogi), a 27-year-old drag artist with Filipino roots.
On 19 September 2026, Textielhuisin Kortrijk will become a space for celebration, creativity, and connection, bringing together Asian creatives, performers, makers, and community members. This event is organised in collaboration with DURF2030, Bolwerk and Asian Persuasion.
At its heart, Diaspora Rising celebrates the richness and diversity of Asian identities, stories and artistic expression.
For this first edition, visitors can enjoy performances in music, dance and drag, alongside food by Mongo & Rosalie's Filipino Food available throughout the day. An Artist Alley will showcase handmade creations by artists and makers, creating opportunities to discover unique work and support independent creatives.
